Library Gala “Coming Back to the USA”

Since 2002, the Cabell County Public Library's annual fund-raising Gala has a transported library lovers to Italy, Germany, Ireland, and a long list of other foreign countries with an evening of entertainment, food and drink themed to the nation spotlighted that year.

This year the Library is "Comming back to the USA" wiht a red-white-and blue event with entertainment that's strictly American style and a tasty menu fo traditional American food. The Gala is set March 18th at the Don Morris Room at Marshall University's Memorial Student Center, with a reception at 6:30pm, followed by a four course gournemt dinner at 7pm.

Featured entertainment for the evening will include the Charleston Ballet Company performing excerpts from their "Doodle Dandy" production, and a medley of patriotic melodies by "The West Virginians," a choral group from Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, WV.

The dinner menu includes, California Cobb Salad, Wisonsin Beer Cheese Soup, a Carolina Shrip and Grits Appetizer, Kansas City Beef Brisket, Idaho Twice Baked Potoes, Boston Baked Beans and a Pennsylvania Dutch Apple Pie, with accompnaying California and West Virgiinia wines.

Funds raised at this year's Gala will go to aid consturction of a new Library buidling in Barboursville. Gala tickets are $200 per person. For reservations or additional information please call 304-528-3700.
