Head upstairs at Black Sheep Burrito and Brews, 1555 3rd Ave., where four of the region's top poets - Mary B. Moore, Ron Houchin, A.E. Stringer and Joel Peckham - will read from their latest works at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20.

Moore of Huntington, professor emeritus of English at Marshall, is the recent winner of the 2016 Dogfish Head Poetry Prize for her manuscript "Flicker." A retired schoolteacher whose work has appeared in more than 200 journals, Houchin will read from his latest book, "Planet of the Best Love Songs," which is out on Salmon Publishers of Ireland. Peckham, an assistant professor at Marshall University, has had nine books published. Stringer, a writer and professor at Marshall, is the namesake of the university's Visiting Writers Series and is the author of several books including his latest, "Asbestos Brocade."
