Blenko’s 11th Annual Festival of Glass event will be held at the Blenko Glass factory on Friday, August 3 & Saturday, August 4. During this event, visitors will have the rare opportunity to view our skilled artisans at work as well as be able to participate in a variety of classes related to the glass making process (fees apply & sign-ups begin on Monday, July 9 at 9am ONLINE ONLY on our Eventbrite page: Class space is limited. Spaces will fill quickly so if you are interested be certain to sign up early. We suggest you enroll as close to 9am EST on July 9 as possible. Due to the cool down process items must go through, finished items will be ready to pick up beginning Friday, August 17 in our Visitor Center Gift Shop. (if you participate in windchime class, please call before visiting to pick up your item. Due to the kiln firing process, windchimes may require more time). Items can only be held at our gift shop until August 31 so please make arrangements to ship or pick up your items by this date. Items can also be shipped but you must make arrangements when you register.

Enjoying the Cabell County Fair each year has been a family tradition since 1983. Residents of the county may show their prize garden produce, livestock, and arts & crafts. The prime emphasis of the fair is to provide 4-H and FFA members the opportunity to exhibit their projects. Concerts, horse shows, carnival, pageants and much more guarantees fun for everyone!

ChiliFest 2018

Sanctioned by the International Chili Society and sponsored by WSAZ and Advantage Toyota, the 35th year of ChiliFest in Huntington, West Virginia, benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Tri-State. Since its beginnings at Ritter Park in 1983, the event has grown to well over 20,000 people jamming into Pullman Square in search of their favorite cup of chili.

While locals look forward to ChiliFest each year, cooking teams from all over the East Coast travel to Huntington to compete in the International Chili Society’s West Virginia State Chili Championship.
The winner of this “much heated” event qualifies to represent West Virginia at the ICS World’s Chili Championship. Cooks come from far and wide to downtown Huntington, with their pots, spices, secret ingredients and chili lore for this spirited competition.

ChiliFest is a charity cook-off event benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Huntington. All chili sample tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

Tri-State Street Rods presents Graffiti In The Park June 4th from 8am to 5pm. Huntington WV's scenic Ritter Park is the setting for the largest car show in the Tri-State area. With over 350 classic and custom cars, bikes, and trucks nestled among the trees, it is a great way for the whole family to spend the day. As you stroll through the park enjoying the vehicles, your senses will be stimulated by various food vendors, great Oldies Music, dance competitions, arts and crafts vendors, and the sights and sounds of children participating in the activities provided for them. s commander of the Army of Northern Virginia, General Robert E. Lee gained a reputation as one of the most audacious military leaders in the history of the United States. He endeared himself to his men and gained the respect of leaders on both sides of the contest. Al Stone will be portraying General Lee as that night’s lecturer. Al Stone has been doing so for many years, appearing s at numerous reenactments each year as well as making appearances in schools and theaters. He has also portrayed The General in several documentaries and is regarded by leading historians and reenactors alike as offering the most accurate impression of General Robert E Lee in the nation. His knowledge of Gen Lee and Constitutional issues has astounded many a listener.

It is a story of a soldier’s life before, during and after the War Between the States 1861-1865. Your ancestor could be this soldier. This is a fictional character whose story is based on written facts and personal letters of people who endured this fight for the South; starting with the thunder of the threatened south and ending with discovering a treasure – a heritage treasure. This educational, musical journey of a soldier’s life and feelings during the war will encourage you to preserve and honor our southern heritage for which these soldier’s fought. The Jewel City JAMboree is a multi-day music festival showcasing regional and national Bluegrass and Old Time musicians.

The #JCJAM4 that will take place Friday and Saturday, May 25-26 at Harris Riverfront Park in downtown Huntington, will feature a half dozen regional acts on Friday and then on Saturday feature a half dozen national acts.

Our Tri-State area is home to an unusally large number of hot dog businesses, many decades-old, family-owned businesses that shine as beloved, true traditions! We invite you to come to Downtown Huntington as we collect a dozen of the area's top hot dog businesses, and put them in one location, working together to raise money for the children in our region under treatment for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

We welcome you, your family, and the family dog to come to our annual WV Hot Dog Festival to enjoy contests and competitions, live music and entertainment all day, displays, prizes, demonstrations, crafts, shopping, car and truck shows, and to sample all of these wonderfully delicious hot dogs (as much as you can eat!) in one location for the entire day at Pullman Square!
